A Milestone Year

We set some big goals for HSMAI in 2018 — and are pleased to report that in every way it turned out to be a milestone year. You’ll find numerous examples of our successes throughout this annual report, from membership and education, to sponsorships and events. Here are three we’d like to spotlight:

Organizational Membership: 

Responding to the structural evolution of the hospitality industry, we introduced a new category of membership — with exclusive benefits — to serve hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue-optimization professionals working in the corporate offices of hotel brands, management companies, and owner groups.

HSMAI Foundation: 

With members consistently telling us that recruitment and retention are major challenges, our Foundation realigned its mission to focus on talent and leadership development.


As our industry’s professional community grows, our chapters have increased their offerings, helping to bolster networks and elevate the state of the art in hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue optimization in local markets — while expanding HSMAI’s presence there. 

These and our other accomplishments have one thing in common: They’re dynamic. They’re rooted in change and growth. HSMAI has always prided itself on trying new things, approaching innovation seriously, and helping members stay ahead of the curve — and in 2018 we continued to do that. As you read our 2018 Annual Report, we hope you agree.
